Conditions of Competition
Tournament Committee: Ron Moeder (Chairman), Wayne Braun, Leo Zeggert, and Board of Directors
The Rules of Golf as issued by the USGA govern play, along with Local Rules as applicable in the Club’s “Hard Card”. See below for additional Conditions of Competition. Violations are addressed by the Tournament Committee in cooperation with the Rules Committee.
Format:
This is a two-day, 36-hole Flighted Partner tournament. The Tournament Committee uses the Tournament Pairings Program (TPP) of the GHIN software to determine daily pairings. No Handicaps are required for Guests. Flights are determined based on Saturday’s scores.
All teams play from the White Tees. Women and any participants 68 years of age or older at the start of the tournament may play from the Red Tees, but must play the same tees for both rounds. Note on the scorecard if you play from the Red Tees.
Scoring:
Saturday and Sunday play is with no Handicaps. All players complete eighteen holes using their own ball. Upon completion of each round, prior to signing and turning in the scorecard, the team must decide which player’s score will be used for each of the 18 holes. Each teammate must use nine (9) different scores in completing the final scorecard. Par is 72 for each round.
Any team that improves more than seven shots from Saturday to Sunday will be moved up to the next flight.
A Sudden Death Playoff will decide all ties for first place in each Flight. Participants are responsible for knowing the likelihood of a playoff and failure to be present for the playoff will result in relinquishing first place for second place. The playoff will be a Best Ball format, on the first available tee and continue until one winner is left. All other ties will result in co-winners and the place money will be evenly split.
Other Information:
Prior to the first tee, at the Registration Table, a voluntary $40.00 ($20.00 per day) will be collected from each team wishing to enter a Flighted Team Skins Game. Skins will be paid out for Saturday after the flights have been determined (late Saturday afternoon). The Team score that is recorded for each hole will be used for the Skins game. If there is “No Skins Out” on Saturday, the skins money will carry over to Sunday. In the event of “No Skins Out” on Sunday, the competition will revert to a Best Skins format on Sunday’s results only.
Hole-in-One Pot – In-Active Eagle Pot – In-Active Ringer Pot – In-Active
Club Pace of Play and Lightning Policies are in Effect!
If ANY TEAM is unable to complete their round due to weather or any other circumstances that would cause the tournament to be canceled there will be no score for the day. Flights that are complete will receive Skin money and any unfinished flights will receive a refund for Skins. The Tournament Committee and the Board of Directors will make any final decisions regarding cancellation, the distribution of payouts, or refunded monies in the event of incomplete tournament rounds.
Tournament Payouts:
Closest to the Flagstick each day: Holes #4, #8, #13 and #17 (Gift Cards will be awarded.)
Day money for Saturday’s play after flights is determined.
Team Payout: “Money on the Books”, using Club Payouts Schedule A. The number of teams determines places paid. Guests that win flight money will be paid by a Gift Card for merchandise from either Foothills GC or The Meadows GC.
There is no Players Pool Friday night at the Grove.
Saturday Night BBQ Buffet
Saturday Night Barbeque Buffet is served for Members and their playing Guest at the Grove. The buffet starts at 6:00 p.m. The caterer needs to know how many people to prepare for, so registration is required. If you would like to invite other guests, indicate the number of additional guests on the entry form when you sign-up for the tournament. Submit additional payment of $15.00 per guest with your entry form. Meal tickets will be issued with score cards.
Sunday Lunch
Sunday lunch is served for Members and their playing Guest. Details will be available at the Registration Table on Saturday. Meal tickets will be issued with score cards.
Raffle
Raffle tickets will be sold at Saturday’s Registration Area and throughout the day until 6:00 p.m. Tickets will be 5/$5, 12/$10, and 25/$20. Raffle prizes will be posted at the Registration tables both days. You may purchase raffle tickets until the last check-in time on Sunday.
The Raffle drawing will be held during Sunday’s round. Winning numbers and items will be posted. You do not need to be present for the drawing; however, you must claim your winning item(s) after your round or by 6:00 p.m.
Optional: Saturday Night Players Pool at the Grove
Only tournament registered Members and their Guest are allowed to participate in the Players Pool Auction. Starting time for the Players Pool will begin at the Tournament Committee’s discretion upon completion of posting all scores and creating all flights Saturday evening.
Each participant has the opportunity to bid on any team in the field. The starting bid for all teams will be $50.00 and will increase in $25.00 increments, with a maximum price of $300.00 for each team. When a team is announced for auction, that team will have the opportunity to open the bidding. If they open the bidding at $300.00, the auction for that team is finished. If an opening bid is less than $300.00, additional bids are accepted in increments of $25.00 until a final bid is cast.
On Sunday morning before the first tee, if your team was not purchased on Saturday night, team members may buy their own team for $50.00. If your team was purchased, you may buy 50% of your team for half the purchase price plus 10%. For example, your team was purchased for $300 on Saturday it will cost you $180 for your team ($150 plus $30 (10% of $300)) which goes to whoever bought your team.
If Saturday’s play is cancelled, the Players Pool will also be cancelled for Sunday’s tournament player pool results.
If Sunday’s play is cancelled, the Players Pool will be void and all monies will be refunded to the appropriate individuals.
Payouts for the Player’s Pool are based on the number of participants/teams within each flight, Sunday’s Results Only.
