Year Long Ringer

Season-Long Ringer Pots – Gross & Net

2012 Club Season

Conditions of Competition

Tournament Committee: Monty Montgomery (Chairman), Mike Marsolek, and Jim Powell

Format:

This is a season-long Pot game. There is a Gross Ringer Pot and a Net Ringer Pot. You may enter either one or both of these Pot games. The Net Ringer Pot uses 100% Home Course Handicap and participants will be divided into at least three (3) flights. The Tournament Committee uses the Tournament Pairings Program (TPP) of the GHIN software to determine the flights, targeting a spread of participants as equal as possible per flight.

There is a $15.00 entry fee for each Ringer Pot entered, e.g. $15.00 for the Net Ringer Pot, $15.00 for the Gross Ringer Pot, or $30.00 for both Pot games. You can enter either game at any time throughout the year. Placement in the Net Ringer Pot flights is determined by Home Course Handicap as of the date of flights set up. Your Ringer Score will start at the first tournament after entry. You do not have to play in all tournaments, but the more you play the better your opportunities to post the lowest Ringer score.

The eligible tournaments will be tracked using the TPP software, and include:

Ø  Pair of Nines (2 rounds)

Ø  Chicago (1 round)

Ø  President’s Cup (2 rounds)

Ø  Point Par (2 rounds)

Ø  Senior Club Championship (2 rounds)

Ø            Young Guns – Joker’s Wild (1 round)

Ø            Young Guns – Two-Man Best Ball (1 round)

Ø            Men’s Club Open (1 round)

Ø           Club Championship (3 rounds)

Ø           Member/Member (2 rounds)

Tournament Rules:

Net flights will not be set until after the completion of the Senior Club Championship and Young Guns tournaments. There will be no changes to the flights once the flights have been set. However, if a member is new to the Club and without a previous Index/Course Handicap or enough valid scores, Ringer scores would be recalculated to the proper Net flight.

A member may elect to move up into the next Net flight. He will be assigned a Home Course Handicap based on the highest Handicap Index in that flight at tournament set up, and all Ringer scores previous to tournament set up are recalculated against this Home Course Handicap. To move up a flight, inform the committee chairman prior to tournament set up.

Course Handicap and Tees will be assigned per the Rules of Competition for each included tournament. Scores will be entered for each tournament day played. You must complete a tournament round to get credit.

Scoring:

Your Ringer Score is the lowest score on a hole from all play dates. For example, in the Gross Pot: if you score a gross “4” on Hole # 1 on one tournament day and gross “3” on that same hole on a different tournament day, a “3” is your Gross Ringer Score for Hole #1.

For the best Net Pot score the format is the same. For example: if you score a net “4” on Hole #1 on one tournament day and a net “3” on that same hole on a different tournament day, a “3” is your Net Ringer Score for Hole #1.

This format continues for the entire 18 holes, resulting in your final Ringer Score for the Club’s golf season.

Tournament Payout:

All ties will result in Co-Winners and place money will be split evenly. Winners in all flights will be paid out in “Cash” at the Fall Banquet, using Club Payouts Schedule A. The number of participants in each Ringer Pot flight will determine the number of places paid.
