Conditions
of Competition
Tournament Committee: Jerry
Arellano (Chairman), Doug Phelps, Leo Zeggert
The Rules of Golf as issued by the
USGA govern play, along with Local Rules as applicable in the Club’s “Hard
Card”.
See below for additional Conditions of Competition.
Violations are addressed by the Tournament Committee in cooperation
with the Rules Committee.
Format:
This is a three-day, 54-hole
Flighted Individual Gross and Net tournament using
100% of Home Course Handicap. The Tournament Committee uses the Tournament
Pairings Program (TPP) of the GHIN software to determine Flights and daily
pairings. Home Course Handicap is as of the date of tournament set up. The
Tournament Committee makes every effort to create Flights with the least amount
of Handicap differential possible.
The
1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Flights play
from the Gold Tournament Tees. All other flights play from the White
Tees. For Sunday’s round, the Tournament Committee will do pairings based
on Friday’s and Saturday’s combined lowest Gross scores played from the
Tournament Tees regardless of flight; these players make up the last groups in
the field.
Scoring:
The combined Low Gross
score playing from the Tournament Tees will determine the Club Champion. The Low
Gross winner from each flight will be recognized as the Flight Club
Champion. The Flight Club Champions
are not eligible for “Money on the Books”; instead, each winner receives a
gift card commensurate with “Money on the Books” at the Fall Banquet.
The 1st Flight
payouts are based on Gross scores. All other flights payouts are based on Net
scores.
A Sudden Death playoff will
decide all ties for first place. Playoff holes are determined by the Tournament
Committee based on course availability. Players are responsible for knowing the
likelihood of a playoff possibility. Failure to be present for the playoff will
result in relinquishing first place for second place. All other ties are
co-winners and the place money is evenly split.
All
scores are posted by the Committee for USGA Handicap purposes, with applicable
Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) applied.
Other Information:
Prior to the first tee, at
the Registration Table, a voluntary $15.00 will be collected from each
individual wishing to enter a Flighted Skins Game (1st
Flight - Gross) (All other Flights - Net).
In addition, a voluntary $15.00 will be collected from each
individual wishing to enter a Gross Over the Entire Field Skins game. If
there is “No Skins Out” on Friday, the skins money will carry over to
Saturday. If there is “No Skins Out” on Saturday, the skins money will carry
over to Sunday. In the event of “No Skins Out” on Sunday, the competition
will revert to a Best Skins format on Sunday’s results only.
